I pick up rusty scrap metal, as it continually works its way up to the surface after rains and is not good for horses, people or vehicles to tramp over.
I find a wide variety of metal things such as nails, chains, locks and weird unidentifiable fragments.
I started with a simple shape and had so much fun I started over and made another horse that was a bit more complex and had heavier more substantial parts.

As I was putting this horse together on the steps (where parts accumulate) I heard rustling underfoot and was surprised by a rather large snake who was luckily slithering away from me!
Despite the snake, I kept passing by and tinkering with my creation at different times of the day and enjoyed how the different shadows and camera angles altered its appearance . I think I will revisit this media and secure the horse parts to a weathered barn board to make it into wall art and have it be more permanent rather than leave rusty pieces on the front steps! |
